NZTA Level 1 TC/Events Management Workshop

This workshop promotes safe working practices, standards and operating procedures for event activities on the road.

This is the NZTA Level 1 TC Basic Traffic controller course specifically designed for event co-ordinators. It covers the standards and operating procedures required by the latest Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management.

Duration – 1 day

Outcomes from the workshop

On completion of the workshop the participants will understand how to:

  • Assist the STMS in setting up, monitoring and removing equipment in accordance with approved Traffic Management Plans
  • Develop a consistent approach to traffic control
  • Analyse traffic management plans in relation to different road situations
  • Understand the requirements for sign and equipment selection, placement, safe operating procedures and site protection.

Who should attend?

Any person that carries out activities on or within 5 metres of the edge line of a road or on a footpath of all NZTA state highways and local authority roads.

Attendees wishing to be placed on the NZ Transport Agency database and receive a photo identity warrant card must pass the NZ Transport Agency assessment at the workshop. There is a fee of $40.00 + GST per person for issue of the ID card.
