Managing First Aid – Refresher/Practical

The courses offered include practical elements working with a ‘partner’ as First Aider and casualty. There is a requirement for attendees to demonstrate CPR using a manikin and other practical scenarios including bandaging.

Open courses are to be arranged as required and costs will be advised at the time of booking dependant on venue (s) and numbers of attendees.

In house courses and courses to cover industry based first aid training requirements can also be arranged on request.

Duration – 1 day

Outcomes from the workshop

The aim of first aid is to:

  • Preserve Life
    Prevent a patients condition becoming worse
    Promote recovery
    Assess the situation to prevent danger and harm to themselves, the bystanders and the patient(s)
    Identify the condition/injury the patient(s) are suffering from
    Give immediate and appropriate aid and treatment
    Arrange without delay assistance and or transportation for the patient(s)

Who should attend?

Any person who may be required to undertake practical and emergency first aid.

Unit Standards (6401,6402)

The training provided will enable NZQA registered attendees to have the above credits registered against their name on the NZQA database.

If you require registration then you must supply your NZQA number for us to register the credits. There is a cost of $4.00 to cover registration.

A certificate will be issued and sent to attendees upon completion of the workshop. The certification lasts for 2 years
